About Kirti

Kirti was born in India, raised in Spain, and currently always learning in New York. She is an Ayurvedic therapist, committed to practicing the wisdom of life. Kirti is also the founder of Kalya Veda and bettergreenhealth. Inspired by her mother’s journey of self-healing, Kirti transformed her wellness journey by integrating Ayurvedic practices into her own life. Why Ayurveda? Unlike other medical systems, Ayurveda addresses the root cause to understand what you need to live a life with balance.

1. What's in your pantry right now? What are some of your go-tos for wellness and for flavor?

The pantry is full of snacks! A lot of them are homemade. From homemade granola bars, that I call power balls to chevra. A lot of nuts, chocolate, lotus seeds more! My go-to when I am running around is a quick bite of my power ball or a date! I have a sweet tooth.

2. What's your favorite comfort food? No judgments!

A big bowl of Kichadi or Pizza! I can pretty much live on those two things.

3. What is your go-to home remedy using spices, foods or herbs?

Mostly spices and herbs! Ginger tops that list. I love drinking ginger tea. Ginger powder, a pinch of black pepper, mixed with honey - I always have this in my kitchen for cough or even preventative care such as building immunity.

4. Tell us about one experience where nutrition changed your life.

In my Ayurvedic practice, I learned to have a consistent bowel movement in 30-60 mins after waking up every day is a sign of a healthy gut. And I achieved it after I quit drinking smoothies that were a mix of fruits and vegetables. That thought me it is not just about what you eat, it's also about how you eat when you eat, and how much you eat.

5. What's one health or nutrition tip you would recommend to our readers?

Start your day with warm water and drink coffee or Chai after breakfast.
